Lunacy Box on Zillo – 20th Anniversary Issue
Here is a great review on German goth music magazine Zillo, in orignal language and translated in English.
Lunacy Box from Italy with their eponymous debut are bulding bridges – between fragile indie rock of the late 70s and a strong presence of the Female Power Voices: Joy Division meets Garbage, Bauhaus jamming with Lacuna Coil.
Here are some cool samples and modern distorted guitars – the result is an hard-warm mix which the southerner call himself as a “sensual and aggressive Gothic Pop act”.
The quartet moves around with an extremely charismatic voice signed by Ms Larsen which demonstrates a good landmark on the official songs.
“Wrong Lane,” “Save”, “No turning back” are hitting with thick riffs and hypnotic melodies which are turning melancholic on the acoustic and delicate ballad “Hide” and with the Filter cover “Hey Man Nice Shot” (reinforced by Skinny Puppy – drummer Justin Bennett), there are classics – feel free on top.
Very promising work which must be kept under observation.
